Due to a US Government Executive Order, all goods exported from the UK to the US will soon be subject to additional tariffs. These changes are expected to come into force on 29th August 2025.
The new order means that ALL goods, regardless of their value, will incur additional charges. These customs charges must be paid to US Customs before the items enter the USA.
The charges will be based around the items value and the tariff which is applied to the country of manufacture. We’ve seen some online sources estimate it could be as much as $80 per order. At RDM we can’t absorb these costs nor do we want to push them back onto those showing an interest in keeping magic alive.
To continue shipping to America, we would need to rejig our website to include a calculator at checkout to identify all of the costs. This is very big deal for all businesses, and for ours, we currently don’t have the resources to reinvent our website at the drop of a (top) hat to support this, nor do we want to pass on extra charges to our customers.
We’ve decided at present that the best thing to do is to pause shipping to America before the new custom charges come into place. We’ll be keeping a close on eye on any changes, and hopefully we’ll be able to ship to the USA once again in the near future.
